Iris is a big fan of a Dutch duo called "Nick & Simon". I like their music too. I never knew them any other way than singing Dutch and that they are also coaches on "The voice (of Holland)".

We have on television a show called "The best singer of Holland' and the latest round has My favorite singer Rob de Nijs. The purpose of the show is to have a group of singers, regardless of their field. (theater, musical, mainstream, only Dutch, only English, both/other languages) and have them sing each other's songs. Personally, I can't wait for the episode where the elected singers will have to tackle the songs by Rob de Nijs....

Anyhow, back to Nick & Simon, my interest was peaked by Rob de Nijs and I went looking on YouTube for more video clips and I found some clips from Nick & Simon, when they had their round, on a previous season. Singers had to sing their songs and they had to sing songs chosen for them by others.

And Nick was asked to sing "Hallelujah" and he took the challenge:

Oh, by the way. Here are the boys together, doing "Sound of silence", during a live-show. (oh, how great thy balls must be, if there's something that is easy to fuck up it's Simon & Garfunkel - they make it sound so easy and it can so easily fail completely)

Asked why they don't make an English album Simon explains: "They didn't want us when we sang in English."
I guess the Dutch can be pretty stupid, but I sincerely want them in English and/or in Dutch. ;D
