Not tonight

All he had known was that he didn’t want to wake up. He just wanted to stay in that comfortable little place, where Kevin was close to him and he could forget everything else, but as he sat up, he had known that it would not be so. He could not pretend that they were back together and that everything was as it should be. Because Kevin might have his head on Scotty’s shoulder, but it doesn't mean it belongs there.
“I should go to air-mattress.” Scotty says. Kevin doesn’t seem to react at first and Scotty wishes that Kevin would just continue sleeping, with his head on Scotty’s shoulder. When Scotty can feel Kevin move away it’s a sobering feeling. Now it’s all over, that little intimacy he loves so much. But he can’t be the first to move away. Not from Kevin. Not if there’s this sudden tension between them.
“Yeah, you should.” Kevin answers slowly. And at that moment Scotty knows he will not go back to his air-mattress. Not tonight. Their lips meet and Scotty pulls Kevin closer.
Tonight he will be in Kevin’s arms, he will feel Kevin’s hands on his body, he will feel Kevin’s body move under his, he will breathe in the scent he knows so well, he will hear the moans he had missed so much… And just for tonight he will feel loved again…

Grumpy

Summary: Kevin is grumpy, taking place after 507 and it’s still not going smoothly between the boys.

Final snack of the day and then it's bedtime for me. Again, should have been more, but it never got there.

Kevin is surprised, when he sees Scotty enter his office.
“Thought you were working tonight.” Kevin looks tired and his voice is a bit harsh, as if seeing Scotty is not a nice surprise. Scotty takes a deep breath. Of course it’s like this. Up and down. One day at a time. This is obviously not a good moment.

“Saul took over and Angie has to learn to take care of the kitchen by herself. Besides it’s not like I live on the other side of town and it will take me hours to get to the kitchen. So, I’m all yours.” Scotty replies with a smile, spreading his arms. Though it suggests a certain openness, he’s, at the same time, worried for Kevin’s rejection.

He walks up to Kevin. His hands play with curls that seem to return now Kevin’s hair is longer again.
“I’ve missed these.” He sighs. Kevin pulls his head away in an almost irritated way, which makes Scotty ask: “What’s wrong?”

Kevin sighs and softens a bit.
“Nothing. Bad case. It put me a bad mood. I’m sorry, it’s not your fault, I know. I guess, I hadn’t expected to see you. Thought I had time to be grumpy.” Kevin makes an effort to smile at Scotty now as well, as he takes Scotty’s hands and pulls him closer for a kiss.

“What’s the case about?” Scotty manages to ask between two kisses.
“Forget it. It can wait... Why don’t we go upstairs?” Kevin suggests, getting up. Scotty wraps his arms around Kevin. He wants to feel his husband close again and shake away the memories of the lonely nights after he had confessed his cheating.

“I thought you’d never suggest.” He places a small kiss on Kevin’s nose. “Are you sure you’re done? I don’t want to take you away from your work.”
“I’m fine.” Kevin replies, quickly closing the file. He locks the door behind him and then follows Scotty upstairs.
